Saludos,
A great way to start class
or change pace is with some
movement. The following
chant is meant to rev up the brain and motivate students to learn some new
words in Spanish and also relieve the boredom.
To teach the chant, the teacher should
say the words and do the action one line
at a time and then have the students repeat the line and the action.
"X" = clap. It's really DIVERTIDO!
MANOS ARRIBA - una canción

XXX OLÉ (That's all, olé-
use your arms and hands to signal
"that's all).
Hope your students enjoy
this chant as much as mine.

A different hand motion chant can be
sung to the tune of hamburger, cheeseburger, lettuce and tomato using the words
Hamburguesa, queso, lechuga, tomate.
Hamburguesa, queso, lechuga, tomate.
Hamburguesa, queso, lechuga, tomate.
Ay, guacamole.
The hand movements are the same as Macarena. For "Ay, guacamole," just wave your
arms high above head. My
students initiated this chant.
